Weekend Retreat

Now and then everyone needs to get away from the hustle and bustle world that at times can be a real drag, fortunately sometimes a little piece of paradise can be found just a short drive away it may not be a resort or a 5 star hotel but just a simple, plain out of the way piece of landscape to gather your thoughts and feel at peace. My little getaway was just outside the city on a friend of mines land, it was an old somewhat converted mill with very minimal utilities and even a genuine outhouse a short walk away, the surrounding land was very serene full of pastures and rolling hills with only two homes that could be seen in a distance, the little stream and covered bridge just adds to this little chunk of paradise. My old 1964 Ford pickup at the time seemed to fit perfectly in this rustic setting that was photographed in late autumn 1985 in Guilford County North Carolina.

Love the image and getaway but the outhouse...hmmm...not for me. :)

That was a bit over for the top for me too but for as little time I spent in it the scenery made up for it the rest of the time. :)
